No Reason To Keep Reminding Him

"Hey Mulla, where have you been?" asked the imam, "I have not seen you at the mosque in ages! We have missed your presence and your barakah!"

"Oh well I have not been coming for some time..." said Nasrudin "Why is that Mulla? A venerable old man like yourself, why I used to see you there every single day!"

"Well my dear man, it is like this," Nasrudin explained, "in my youth, I did not go very often because I figured I had plenty of time to appease the Almighty in later years, in my middle age, I went frequently because I wanted to make sure that He knew I was making amends for the follies of my youth, over the past few years, I began going less and less because I did not want to bother Him with my presence, nevertheless I wanted Him to know I was doing my obligations just in case He checked, nowadays, in my old age, I see no reason to keep reminding Him that I am still alive!"
